Saturday I went to Mounds State Park in Anderson again. I have been looking forward to the fall season there. It was a nice, cool morning. The lady that charges you to get in let me in free, so that was a great start.
The fall colors are just not really kicking in this year, and I was disappointed. October 20th, and the woods are still really green. Some leaves are falling, and some trees have a yellow or brown tint, but just no the real spectacle we all hope for.
The campground was still full. Full of giant boxes on wheels, giant diesel trucks to pull them, dogs tied up everywhere, barking away. I cannot fully comprehend this behavior in my fellow humans. All of the comforts of home, with a lots of added cost and effort. Weird.
I made a nice loop around the outer edge of the park. People are always nice here, and I enjoyed my little walk very much today. The White River was running crystal clear. You do not see clear water in Indiana very much, so that was a great visual. This is a great place. I hope to try it once more this fall for a color fix.
